The muscles and the mind
The interplay
The way they play until they don't
Until they won't stand down from their posts, abandon their steel and loosen their iron grip
Shackled, welded & linked
Two pieces and one whole fighting itself
Of dual purpose, and yet single-mindedly battling to the same end
As black and white as the grayest area and the matters that dance on sheaths of rope and will it to move in time
As two
As one
And when the rope is taut its fibers sing a harmonious round
As two
As one
And all that matters, gray and black and white, bubble and boil and break the surface
Tension, and release
The muscles and the mind
